Love for cooking and entrepreneurial skills have been evident in Chef Florabel even during her teenage years, selling homemade cookies and cakes to her friends and family. It was such a hit that to this day, some of those are must-try items in her restaurant menus. This talent has been honed even more as she entered and won various culinary competitions as an HRM student of the University of Santo Tomas.
After graduating, Chef Florabel worked at Via Mare, one of the very few prestigious restaurants at that time. Her hard work paid off, even more, when she was hired at Le Souffle, another prominent restaurant, where she rose from the ranks and became a store manager, and eventually, executive chef at the young age of 23.
With persistence and a big vision, Chef Florabel opened her first restaurant in 2005, sealing it with signature, calling it her own – Florabel. From then on, she has birthed restaurants after restaurants giving a wide range of options to diners, from close-to-home Filipino cuisine to Asian, Continental, and International fusion. Different concepts with one underlying heart, once a vision and now realized – an excellent fine dining experience that is non-intimidating and affordable, closer to the reach of many.
Driven by her passion for the culinary art, coupled with the full support and inspiration of her husband, shaped by hard work and years of experience, Chef Florabel is already one of the most successful in the industry but stay in tune, because there’s definitely more to come!
