About the Onitsuka Tiger TSUNAHIKI
The TSUNAHIKI pays homage to the original Onitsuka Tiger Tug-of-War shoe which was first debuted in the year 1982. Tug-of-War was an olympic sport during 1900-1920. In the year 1980, the Japan Tug-of-War Union was established, hosting the sport's very first open competition in the country. The first generation of the TSUNAHIKI model acted as a pioneer in the sport's competitive footwear. The rough sport demanded high-quality rubber soles wrapped-up in the sides to keep the feet stable on the ground. Staying true to the original design, the outer sole is a wide wrapped rubber. However, the new version of the shoe has extra cushioning with the inclusion of an Ortholite mid-sole. The body of the shoe is also made out of leather. At the sides of the soles of the feet is the Onitsuka Tiger brand in a metal color. Other than that, not much was changed, absolutely bringing back the symmetrical stripes on an irreplaceable shoe from the past.
The shoes are available in the colors: Black & White, and Directoire Blue & White.
Other colors: Hiking Green & Glacier Grey, Oatmeal & Cream, and Lava Orange & Oatmeal
