Porsche Taycan Cross Turismo: The German manufacturer's 100% electric crossover
Porsche is tackling the electric break market with its new model: the Taycan Corss Turismo.
Confirming its intention to turn more intensely to the electric vehicle market, Porsche has just unveiled, during a virtual world first, an all-terrain version of the Taycan model, a kind of crossover designed to combine driving pleasure, ecology and comfort.
Here, we find some features of the pure and timeless silhouette characteristic of the Taycan, while being underlined by a dynamic and flat flyline. However, the vehicle is distinguished by true self-assertion with unique elements of the Offroad Design pack and its distinctive stern, providing more storage in the trunk and a larger roof guard at the rear.
In terms of engine and performance, you will be able to choose between four different power levels: 380 hp (Taycan 4 Cross Turismo), 490 hp (Tayan 4S), 625 hp (Turbo), and 625 hp also for the Turbo S, as well as an overboost function allowing a brief gain in power. Thus, while the 380-horsepower version will be able to complete 0 to 100 km/h in 5.1 seconds for a top speed of 220 km/h, the most powerful variant (Taycan Turbo S 625 horsepower) will cut the distance in just 2.9 seconds for a maximum speed of 250 km/h.
All these variations, electric, will have a range (WLTP) between 390 and 450 km/h thanks to its recharge up to 270 kWh. This will allow you to gain up to 100km of range in just 5 minutes of charging thanks to the Ionity fast terminals.
"In 2019, we sent a clear signal by launching our first fully electric sports car. . . . We see ourselves as pioneers of sustainable mobility. By 2025, half of the new vehicles we will deliver will be electrified, either fully or in plug-in hybrid form. By 2020, a third of the vehicles we sold in Europe were equipped with an electric powertrain. The future belongs to electric mobility. With the Taycan Cross Turismo, we are taking another big step in this direction. Oliver Blume, Chairman of the Board of Porsche AG.
Finally, it is worth noting the appearance of the "Gravel" mode, allowing to increase the ground clearance by 30 mm compared to the sedan. This mode also plays on traction control, torque vectoring and steering. Available from €96,454, discover more in pictures the all-new Taycan Cross Turismo through the photo gallery below.
